The Kizer Gemini is a perfect pocket knife for daily use. The knife was designed in cooperation with Ray Laconico. With the exception of the edge, this knife has no sharp sides. It feels comfortable in hand and slips easily into your pocket.
The blade is made from CPM S35VN that was hardened up to 58-60 HRC. The combination of this type of steel and hardness ensure that this knife retains its sharpness for a long time. It is also easy to sharpen when the knife becomes blunt.
The blade shoots out of the handle thanks to the flipper. The blade runs on ball bearings. This create less friction between the handle and the blade when opening. Once its opened the blade is kept in place by the framelock. The framelock is enforced with a steel insert which ensures that the framelock is wear and tear resistant. The insert also functions as an overtravel stop. This overtravel stop ensures that the framelock cannot bend too far.
The handles are made from 6AL4V titanium. All edges are rounded so it feels very comfortable in hand. The pocket clip, screws and backspacer have a blue anodized finish. It adds a little more colour to the knife. The blade has a stonewashed finish. As such traces of use are hardly visible.
The Kizer Gemini is a wonderful knife for daily use. They have thought of everything.
