This black **Le Creuset frying pan 24 cm** from the La Fonte enamel collection is made from solid cast iron. A decent, top-quality pan that will last for generations. You can do a lot with this cast-iron pan. Cooking, frying and stewing on all types of cooking hobs. Because of the wooden handles, you cannot use this pan in the oven or dishwasher.

## Le Fonte enamel pans

Le Creuset Fonte enamel pans are cast in cast iron. For each individual pan a mould is made from sand. This mould is filled with cast iron. It is finished with a nice enamel non-stick coating. The outside is enhanced with one of the characteristic Le Creuset colours. The result is a decent, heavy pan. A real style icon, which will last for generations. Because an individual mould is made each time, every pan is unique, so there may be subtle differences between them. This is one of the charming characteristics of these world-famous pans.

## Only use wooden or silicone utensils.

For this pan Le Creuset recommends using silicone spatulas, which you can purchase at a discount as a combi-deal when purchasing this pan. You could also use wooden spatulas, metal spatulas, however, are not allowed because they can damage the enamel layer. Clean the pan before use and dry it properly. In addition, always select a fitting heat source to match the base diameter of the pan. When using a gas hob, make sure that the flames cannot spread up the sides of the pan. The flames should only hit the base. Also, don't immediately put the hot pan under a cold tap, as this could damage it. Make sure it has enough time to cool off. This pan is not dishwasher proof because of the wooden handles.

## History of Le Creuset pans

The basis for the success of the Le Creuset pans started in 1924 a the fair in Brussels. Iron smith Armand Desaegher and Octave Aubecq, the founder of Les Émailleries, joined forces and decided to start a company together. It turned out to be an amazing decision. Ever since 1925, they have been conquering the world with their enamel Le Creuset pans.
