With this Le Creuset fondue set with wooden handles you can prepare the most delicious cheese, meat or fish fondue. The fondue set consists of a cast iron pan with wooden handles, a cast iron base, six fondue forks and a burner with a flame regulator. Burning gel is not included. The fondue pan has a capacity of 2 litres, which is enough for six people to enjoy a delicious fondue. The pan has the characteristic Le Creuset cherry red colour. A beautiful warm colour that contrasts beautifully with the black base.
Enamelled cast iron was a smart choice, as this material absorbs heat evenly and retains it for a long time. This keeps the contents of the pan at the right temperature for the best fondue experience. No need to worry about splashing oil or cheese falling apart. This pan can also be used on the stove, regardless of the heat source. However, it cannot be used in the oven because of the wooden handles.
Naturally, forks are a crucial element in a fondue set. This set comes with six fondue forks with wooden handles. Each of these handles has its own colour on the back, so you can always remember which fork is yours.
Using the Le Creuset fondue set
The Le Creuset fondue set comes with a small booklet containing four recipes for a successful fondue. This means you can get off to a flying start with your new fondue set straight away. You will notice that each type fondue requires a different preparation. A meat fondue requires a completely different approach than a cheese fondue, for instance. We therefore recommend that you take a good look at the booklet ahead of time.
Keep the pan warm by placing it on the cast iron base. There is room for the supplied torch in the middle of this base. The advantage of this torch is that it works on either burning gel or methylated spirit. A small user guide is provided for both methods. Once you have ignited the torch, adjust the air supply with the flame regulator. Want to extinguish the torch? Simply use the lid to close the torch.
The pan requires the same cleaning and maintenance as all Le Creuset cast iron pans: wash it before using it for the first time and dry it thoroughly. When using the pan on the stove or a hotplate, make sure that the flame is no wider than the bottom of the pan. Do not immediately place the hot dish under a cold tap, as this could damage it. Make sure it has enough time to cool down. The pan needs to be washed by hand: because of the wooden handles, it is not suitable for dishwashers. The same applies to the fondue forks.
