The LionSteel SR22 is a cool pocket knife made in Maniago, Italy. The design is based on the award-winning LionSteel SR11. Like its big brother you can recognize the LionSteel SR22 by its integral frame. This means that the titanium handle was milled from one solid block of titanium. This is an incredibly complicated process that requires a lot of knowledge and experience. LionSteel was one of the first producers who was able to apply this process on a production scale.
You can open the SR22 with the flipper. Because of the ball bearings around the pivot the blade will shoot from the handle. The blade is made from Sleipner. This type of steel might not be that famous, but LionSteel chose this type of steel for a reason. Research namely demonstrated that Sleipner namely retains its sharpness even better than M390. Everyone who own a knife made from M390, knows that this is an imposing claim. Do, however, keep corrosion into account. Clean and dry the steel after use and be careful around fruit acids. In terms of corrosion resistance it looks a lot like D2.
Unique for a production pocket knife is that LionSteel added a convex edge. The convex grind is extra strong and will, as such, retain its sharpness even longer. To maintain it we recommend stropping the blade.
When opened a solid framelock will lock the blade. As you might have grown accustomed to it is enhanced with a steel insert. As such the lock will function perfectly for years. Even though the framelock is strong enough, LionSteel added the Rotoblock, just in case. This is a small disc on the side of the handle you can use to secure the framelock. A little more security. You can easily control it with your hand, no tools necessary.
You can use the steel pocket clip to keep the SR22 close, but it also comes with a nice leather sheath. With it you can easily carry it from your belt.
The LionSteel SR22 is an amazing pocket knife for all. A fancy pocket knife, so solidly constructed it is also great for daily use.
