The Pohl Force Bravo One Survival Gen 3 is one of the more easy-to-use pocket knives from the Pohl Force collection, designed by Dietmar Pohl. Their use of a hollow pivot (hinge screw) is beautiful and it can be adjusted with a small coin. The shape of the hollow screw comes back in the lanyard hole at the back of the handle. This also keeps the pocket clip, which can be placed tip-up on both sides, in place. The solid Zytel handle grip has a coarse structure. 




The CTS BD1-steel blade can’t be opened with one hand when the knife is delivered from the factory. It does come with a thumb stud you can place on the blade yourself. In the opened position the blade is blocked by a very solid back-lock.

Très satisfaisant en EDC : excellente prise en (petite) main, absence totale de jeu vertical ou latéral, poids rassurant mais contenu, design pas banal, Bonne qualité de fabrication. Souffre la comparaison avec un Emerson, pour la robustesse et le côté pratique. Le clip trombone permet un port discret. Le ricasso considérable permet une fermeture à une main en toute sécurité, pas si fréquente avec le système lockback. Je ne regrette pas cette acquisition !

Deze gekocht ter vervanging van mijn oude werkvouwmes. Ergonomie en grip is top. Het zit kwalitatief goed in elkaar en het voelt ook solide. De coating op het mes is verrassend robuust gebleken tot nu toe. En het ziet er ook nog eens best bijzonder uit ook. Gezien de dikte van het mesblad had ik wel gedacht dat het niet geschikt zou zijn voor voedsel maar dat viel erg mee. Tomaten snijden, aardappels schillen etc. is prima te doen. Het is geen opinel, maar je scheurt je appel in elk geval ook niet uit elkaar.
Na wat gebruik is deze trouwens makkelijk met een hand open te "gooien".
Ik ben er in elk geval dik tevreden mee en zou hem zo weer kopen.

Enige minpunten, het cts-bd1 staal. Deze word snel bot, maar is ook wel weer snel scherp te krijgen. Als je lang wil doen na een slijpbeurt zul je dus verder moeten kijken. Als dit betekend dat het staal wel taai is dan is dat een prima afweging gezien de taken van het mes, maar dit weet ik dus niet zeker. Een beetje in een stuk hout porren heeft dit mes in elk geval perfect doorstaan. 

Nog een puntje, de thumbdisc is van mindere kwaliteit dan de rest van het mes. En het vasthaken op je broek met de pocketclip zal je broek slopen gezien de grip van het handvat.
