The Reate Mini Horizon-D is a slightly more compact version of the Reate Horizon-D. Just like its bigger brother, it is a truly fantastic knife. The milling work, the action of the flipper, the finish: everything is perfectly executed.
If you're familiar with its predecessor, you'll immediately recognise the shape of the handle. The Mini Horizon-D is just as ergonomic. And although its name may be Mini, we think it is still quite a good size. In any case, the handle is large enough for even big hands to have a good grip. The milling pattern provides a comfortable grip, and Reate has made bevels in just the right places to make it really comfortable in hand.
The blade is made from Böhler M390 steel, a very stainless powder steel with excellent sharpness retention. You open this knife with the flipper. This mechanism runs really smoothly thanks to the ceramic ball bearings. When opened, a frame lock holds the blade in place. As you'd expect from Reate, the knife has a steel lockbar insert. This means that the lock is made of steel on steel contact for an even longer lifespan.
The Reate Mini Horizon-D comes in a luxurious storage case. This also includes a set of spare screws. In the unlikely event that you strip a screw, you can simply replace it yourself.
