The **Rick Hinderer MP-1** is an advanced and solid pocket knife. According to experts the Hinderer MP-1 is the embodiment of the technological development Rick Hinderer is going through as a knife maker.


The MP1 blade is made from CPM S35VN steel. The blade and the handle both have a stonewashed finish. While the blade on most pocket knives opens against a stop pin in the handle, Hinderer has turned this around. He has placed the stop-pin inside the blade. This pin rests on a cut-out in the titanium handle. As a result the blade is supported on both sides which gives you additional stability because the pressure on the blade is distributed more evenly.


The Hinderer MP1 can easily be opened with the flipper or thumb studs. The blade runs on Teflon washers. The main advantage of this is that even without oil they will run smoothly. In addition, when you use Teflon washers you won’t be bothered by dirt as much as you would when you use ball bearings.


## Hinderer Modular Backspacer System (HMBS)


Unique about the MP1 is that it comes with the Hinderer Modular Backspacer System (HMBS). With it you can replace the backspacer without disassembling the knife. Because the spacer has ingeniously been placed in between the standoffs you only need one screw to remove it.


With its technically advanced techniques and incredibly comfortable ergonomics the MP-1 is truly the star of the Hinderer range.
