The **Sakai Takayuki Nanairo Black Gold 14585 gyuto** is a Japanese kitchen knife. This knife was originally designed to prepare meat. Today, the gyuto knife is considered an all-round chef's knife for cutting meat, fish and vegetables.

## Sakai Takayuki Nanairo handle: Black Gold ABS plastic

A handle made from a remarkable type of wood and exotic horn is great, but it does not make the knife more practical and definitely not cheaper. That is why Sakai Takayuki enhanced these kitchen knives with traditional octagonal handles made from ABS plastic. Do you love practical knives, but don't want to compromise when it comes to sharpness? The Sakai Takayuki Nanairo kitchen knives are the answer.

The kitchen knives are not only more affordable as a result, they have more advantages. Plastic does not require as much maintenance, and the handles are enhanced with an anti-bacterial lacquer finish. This lacquer was applied according to traditional Echizen lacquer techniques. Thanks to the plastic and the lacquer, the handles are more anti-bacterial, water-resistant and wear-resistant than wooden handles could ever be. Well, at least not at this price. 

## Sakai Takayuki Nanairo blade

The blade is made from stainless INOX Molybdenum steel. Sharpened by hand by the master sharpeners from Sakai Takayuki. Despite the fact that the handles are waterproof and the steel corrosion resistant, we don't recommend cleaning the knives in the dishwasher. To make sure the knife stays in great shape it is best to clean it by hand and dry it with a dry towel.
