The Schrade Ferocity is a tough pocket knife with an excellent price-quality ratio. You open the blade with the flipper, which really shoots open thanks to the 'Nitro Assisted Opening Mechanism'. A rock-solid liner lock keeps the blade in place.
I’ve always been a fan of flippers, and then assisted flippers, I’ve lived in the north of Scotland and now northern Sweden, assisted flippers are better for opening with cold fingers!
I bought the Schrade ferocity for work, didn’t expect a lot for the money, but it’s actually quite well made, the blade is centred closed, it was shaving sharp out of its blister packing, The blade blacking is tough, not marked yet, but I don’t hammer knives through logs ! G10 handles are a good design, the pocket clip is quite strong, might scuff your jeans pocket but you stand less chance of losing it ! Overall I’m quite pleased with it, it was stiff to open to begin with, but has smoothed out nicely, still no play anywhere. Definitely will buy another.
