The **Tojiro Zen chef's knife 18 cm** is a Japanese-style chef's knife. The long blade is comprised of three layers: a VG10 core surrounded by 13-chrome steel. This knife combines the best of the Western kitchen knives with the best of the Japanese kitchen knives. Easy to use and comfortable in hand. And, of course, enhanced with a razor-sharp edge.

## Tojiro Zen blade

For knives there is always a compromise between hardness (sharp, but brittle and less stainless) and flexible (less sharp and less brittle, more stainless). Tojiro opted for a multi-layer construction. The core is made from VG10 steel surrounded by 13-chrome steel. This leaves you with a unique combination of hardness and a much higher corrosion-resistance than carbon steel.

## Tojiro Zen handle

The handle is made from lightweight magnolia wood. It is enhanced with a traditional Japanese D-shape. This is a right-handed knife, but left-handed users won't be bothered by this asymmetry.
