The **TOPS Knives El Chappo** is a tough-looking cleaver designed by Leo Espinoza. This cleaver is great for chopping up tougher vegetables, though it's mostly intended to be of use to meat lovers. With a blade thickness of 4.8 mm, this cleaver is heavy enough to help you with all meat processing. 

The El Chappo is a cleaver that is as suitable indoors as it is outdoors. So whether you're preparing dinner in the kitchen or processing your latest catch after hunting, the El Chappo is just what you're looking for. 

## TOPS Knives EL Chappo blade

The blade is made of 1095 steel, a carbon steel that TOPS Knives uses for many of their knives. This type of steel can handle its own and is easy to sharpen in the field. To increase the steel's corrosion resistance, TOPS added their own Sniper Gray coating. Though this provides some protection, it's still wise to keep the blade clean and add a drop of oil every once in a while.

## TOPS Knives El Chappo handle

The handle is made from canvas micarta; a composite material made of canvas and synthetic resin. Micarta offers a good grip, even in wet conditions. To provide even more grip, TOPS added recesses for your index finger and middle finger.
