The **WMF cutting board made from acacia wood** is a sturdy wooden cutting board that makes cutting large quantities of ingredients a piece of cake. In addition, this stunning cutting board can also be used as a serving board or tapas plate. The cutting board has four suctions cups on the corners. This prevents the cutting board from moving when you're using it.

Acacia wood is far from boring in terms of colour. The wood has a light brown colour. Or is it more dark brown? Maybe it has a bit of a reddish hue? The vivid colours are what make this type of wood so beautiful. It is also very hard and has a natural anti-bacterial effect. It is therefore a great material for cutting boards! 

## Cleaning your cutting board

To make sure your cutting board stays in great shape you need to maintain it! Fortunately this isn't as much work as you might think. Clean the board after use by holding it under a tap and dry it with a towel. The cutting board is not dishwasher safe. Place the board upright (or hang it) to make sure it dries properly.

## Adding oil to your cutting board

Wooden cutting boards need to be maintained. To make sure the cutting board stays in great shape we recommend adding a coat of oil before use. It makes the cleaning process easier, the wood won't dry out and it ensures that scratches are less visible. It is best to use a flavourless and fragrance-less oil. Almond or grape seed oil, for instance. (Please note: we do not recommend using almond oil if you are allergic to nuts). White mineral oil is also possible, but we recommend using [Eden cutting board oil](/en/pt/-eden-essentials-mineral-oil-for-wooden-cutting-boards-120-ml.htm). Don't use olive oil because it will become sticky. Of course, you'd want to avoid this. Add a coat of oil once every month.
