## SHIPPING AND SHIPPING COSTS

We keep stock at KATO Group's local warehouse in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Every product has a stock label indicating if a product is in stock and ready for shipment or not. Orders will be shipped with DHL and GLS (who hand our parcels over to local mail carriers). 

## PRICES AND VAT

Prices listed on our website include VAT. Depending on the destination of the parcel the VAT will be deducted in the checkout. The same applies when ordering as a company with a valid VAT number.

## RETURNS AND REFUNDS

### 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We guarantee your satisfaction with all knivesandtools merchandise. You can always cancel your order at any time for a full refund within 30 days of delivery in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

In order to return goods please always contact us first at info@knivesandtools.com so we can send you the packing and shipping instructions. We will always refund you the same way you paid us (ie credit card or wire transfer). You will receive the refund within 14 days after we received the return shipment.

If there is any damage to the product as a result of use that does not include determining the functionality of the goods, we reserve the right to charge depreciation. 

It is not possible to exchange your item for another item by returning it. Instead, we will give you a refund and you can then place another order on our website. 

### Damaged or defective items

If you receive a damaged or defective item, we will promptly send you a replacement or issue you a full refund after you have returned the damaged or defective product. You will not be charged any additional shipping or handling fees for replacement shipments.

### Guarantee

All items on our website come with at least a 2-year warranty, even though the manufacturer limits this warranty to 1 year. We say minimum because there are several brands with a longer warranty period. (e.g. Fenix, Eden).

## 1. Placing an order

All orders are placed online either via our website [www.knivesandtools.co.uk](http://www.knivesandtools.co.uk), or when contacting our customer service department via phone.

## 2. Shipping and Delivery time

Our warehouse is located in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. All products are shipped from this location. Every product listed on the website has a stock label indicating if a product is in stock and ready for shipment or not. Orders to the United Kingdom are shipped with UPS and normally take 3-5 business days to arrive.

## 3. Prices and VAT

Prices listed on the website are in British pounds and include VAT, fees and charges. Customers from the Channel Islands, with the exception of Jersey and Guernsey, do not pay VAT at knivesandtools.co.uk, but will have to pay local VAT upon delivery.

## 4. 18+

All tools listed on knivesandtools.co.uk enhanced with an 18+ logo are only sold to people aged 18 or over. By placing an order and accepting our terms & conditions you declare that you are at least 18 years of age. We may ask you to provide us with proof of identification before we ship your order.

All orders containing products that are labeled 18+ will be shipped with a mandatory identification/age check upon delivery and require an adult signature.

If you are unable to offer sufficient proof that you, as recipient and creator of the order, are at least 18 years of age or older, UPS will take the package and return it to Knivesandtools in the Netherlands. If you are not at home during the initial delivery attempt, UPS will try again later or send the parcel to a pick-up point. In either case, you must be able to identify yourself and prove you are at least 18 years of age or older. If you are unable to do so your parcel will be returned to Knivesandtools. Please note that we may charge you, the customer, for any expenses made during the return process.

## 5. Returns and Refunds

We want to make sure that the products you've ordered live up to your expectations. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied, you can return your order for a full refund* within 30 days of delivery, in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

*Please note: we may ask for compensation if a product you return can no longer be sold as a new product because it has been used or is damaged.

## Chris Reeve Mnandi knives: features 

The unparalleled quality of Chris Reeve knives is evident in the Mnandi. The Chris Reeve Mnandi is a beautifully designed gentleman's pocket knife made from premium materials. It is a knife for life, which will be passed on for many generations. In Zulu, 'Mnandi' means 'very nice'. It's a suitable name and the perfect description for such a gentleman's knife. ### The Chris Reeve Mnandi: the blade 

The blade is made from CPM S45VN steel, an American steel that made its debut in the Mnandi in 2021. Compared to S35VN, S45VN is slightly better when it comes to sharpness retention, and it is also easier to sharpen. 

 

With a little practice, the Mnandi can be opened one-handed with the help of the cut-out in the blade. At first, though, it's probably best to open the knife with two hands. When opened, the blade is locked in place by a frame lock. Even though this small folding knife may look a little austere, the quality of the materials used, and the finish are absolutely exceptional. 

 

### The Chris Reeve Mnandi: the handle 

 Functionality and quality go hand in hand with this stunning design. The titanium handle is especially striking. Every Mnandi features an exclusive inlay. For some, this is a nice piece of wood, for other knives, this can be a piece of carbon fibre or ivory. Consequently, there are a lot of different versions. ## What is CPM? 

CPM is a type of powder steel. Powder steel, like CPM MagnaCut, is produced by atomizing molten steel into fine powder particles which are pressed together under high pressure and sintered into a solid block. This process leaves you with a finer, more uniform microstructure than traditional forged steel. The result is better sharpness retention, wear resistance and toughness. As such powder steel is popular for use in top-quality knives that retain their sharpness well but are also still relatively easy to sharpen. 

## How good is CPM MagnaCut steel? 
When it comes down to a steel type 'good' is of course relative term. A steel type is as good as it adheres to the demands of the user. So how does that pan out for CPM MagnaCut? CPM MagnaCut represents a significant advancement in knife steel technology because of the exceptional combination of toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. It turned the knife world upside down and was even considered to be the most accessible type of knife steel in 2024. It is a versatile choice for various knife purposes. Its toughness decreases the risk of chipping and breaks. CPM MagnaCut is wear resistant thanks to the fine carbide structure. This means that the blade retains its sharpness well, even for long term use. 

## What are the disadvantages of CPM MagnaCut steel?

### Naniwa Basic Stones grain sizes 
These stones are available in two versions; the 220/1000 grit sharpening stone and the 1000/3000 grit sharpening stone. The first stone with 220 grit is useful when the knife has become quite dull, and you want to restore the edge before sharpening it with the 1000-grit side. ## New Spartan Blades knives for 2020


In 2020 there are immediately three new releases in the Silver Class - Professional Grade. The knives released are called the [Spartan Alala](kato://product/USSBSL004BKBK), [Spartan Damysus](kato://product/USSBSL003BKBK) and [Spartan Machai](kato://product/USSBSL002BKBK). Three decent fixed knives made from 1095 Cro Van carbon steel and a handle made from canvas micarta. You can clearly see that Spartan Blades designer Curtis Iovito left his mark on these knives. KA-BAR can be recognized by  the type of steel used and the finish. The sheaths are made from plastic instead of kydex, but still have the appreciated Spartan carrying options. With prices between 169 and 219 euros these knives are not that cheap, but also not as expensive as the knives from the Gold Class.

## Zero Tolerance 0308


With the release of amazing new models such as the [ZT0230](kato://product/ZT0230) and the [ZT0233](kato://product/ZT0223), as shown in the video, Zero Tolerance decided to take it a little slower at the start of 2020. The knives they released, however, are 100% Zero Tolerance! The new 0308 is tough, robust and enhanced with premium materials such as CPM 20CV steel and titanium. With a blade length of 9.5 cm the 0308 cannot be called a small knife. The 0308 is a work horse. Made for people who want to use their knife for the more demanding jobs and never want to worry about the blade breaking during use. The G10 and the titanium of the handle are both enhanced with a rough geometric pattern. This doesn't only look amazing, it also ensures that you have a lot more grip. An artistic cut-out around the pivot finishes the whole.

## When is the Sebenza 31 available


Chris Reeve Knives is expected to deliver the new Sebenza 31 early 2020. In the meantime we have many other Sebenza 21's in stock, and we are still waiting for other new models. Initially the Sebenza 31 will only be available as a droppoint knife. We will have to wait a little longer for Chris Reeve Knives to introduce the tanto and insingo. Fortunately these blade shapes remain available on the 21. We expect that as soon as all blade shapes are available for the 31 the 21 will no longer be produced, but that is still not entirely clear.

This year, we once again sponsored the cooking competition at the Ready-Set-Cook event ('Klaar Af Kook') during the Horeca Xperience in Groningen, the Netherlands. In three exciting cooking rounds, several chefs competed for the title of Best Chef of Northern Netherlands 2024. ## About the New Benchmade Bugouts

The Benchmade Bugout collection has been one of Benchmade's most popular collections for years. In 2024 Benchmade launched even more colours of this amazing knife! Including a full-size Bugout with Tan Grivory scales, CPM S30V steel and orange anodized hardware. But also a new Mini Bugout with the colour: Sage Green. This model is also enhanced with a blade made from CPM S30V steel and gold anodized hardware. Remarkable about this model is the new, shiny Cerakote Crushed Silver coating on the blade.

For years the Bugout has also been one of our favourites. We look forward to adding the new Bugouts to our website very soon. The Benchmade Bugout Tan Grivory will be available in February, and the Benchmade Mini Bugout Sage Green in March.
