The Bark River Cub is a large and cool fixed knife, made by hand in the United States. When you hold the Cub you immediately notice the stunning lines in this design. The ergonomics are perfect, the shape of the handle jaw-dropping. The versatile design of the Bark River Cub is perfect for various tasks. From gutting large game to bushcraft and survival tasks. In our opinion the Bark River Cub is one of the best fixed knives in our range.
The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won't break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by stropping it.
The handle is made from Desert Ironwood. A type of hardwood mainly found in the United States and Mexico. Characterizing is the beautiful colour and the rich pattern. This great type of wood makes the knife look extra luxurious. As cherry on top the middle pin that is used to secure the scales is a mosaic pin. Even more beautiful.
The Bark River Cub comes with a leather belt sheath (max. belt width 7.0 cm). It can also be worn horizontally.
Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
