The **Bestech Shinkansen BT1803** is an exceptional pocket knife that can be opened super quickly with the front flipper. At first, this unusual opening mechanism might take some getting used to. Once you've got the hang of it (which you can do within 5 minutes), you have a great knife that opens mega fast. Almost as fast as the speedy Japanese magnetic train, which gives this pocket knife its name, Shinkansen.



Bestech has used high-quality modern production techniques for the Shinkansen. The handle is milled from titanium and contains a carbon fibre inlay. Because the front flipper of the blade disappears completely into the handle when the knife is closed, the pocket knife has a very clean, sleek appearance.



The blade is made from CPM S35VN, a premium stainless steel that retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. Add to that the fact that it's also pretty tough, and you know it's a solid choice. It's one of the most popular types of steel at the moment due to its excellent balance between those properties. 



When opened, the blade is locked in place by a solid frame lock. To extend the life of this titanium lock bar, it is equipped with a steel insert. This prevents excessive wear and overextension of the lock. Ball bearings are located around the pivot point. These ensure that the blade moves smoothly.



And finally, the highlights of the custom hardware for the pivot and accompanying pivot collar, and the sleek two-tone finish of the blade, and you can see that they really thought of everything with this knife. A wonderful EDC pocket knife, with gentleman's knife ambitions.
