The **Case V-42 Stiletto** is a fixed dagger with a rich history. Initially this knife was issued to the FSSF: First Special Service Force. They are lovingly called 'the Devils Brigade'. A special unit trained to operate behind enemy lines and sabotage the infrastructure and industry. Even during the first landings in Italy the FSSF was there. The remarkable thing here was that both American and Canadian soldiers served in this unit.

 The Case V-42 Stiletto dagger knives has a double-sided grind point blade. Like the original knives that were issued in the Second World War this knife is made from carbon steel, and enhanced with a hollow grind. The handle is made from layers of stacked leather. The handle is also enhanced with a texture that offers a lot of grip. You can find the same texture on the ricasso. The end of the handle is enhanced with a sharp tip, just like the original.

 The name 'stiletto' comes from the strong resemblance the blade has to well-known Italian pocket knives with their pointed tip. This, however, is a fixed dagger knife.

 The Case Knives V42 Stiletto comes with a leather sheath. It was shaped to match the original. It is very long which is why you could attach it to your thigh with a shoelace. As such it would stick out underneath the long winter coat that was worn at the time. The sheath was reinforced with staples, even around the opening.

 The V42 dagger was copied by multiple companies throughout the years. The coolest version, however, is of course the one made by Case Knives. The company that also produced this knife in 1942/1943.
