The Condor Mini Indigenous Puukko Knife 2812-3.2HC is a moderately sized Puukko knife. The Puukko is a classic Scandinavian outdoor knife. Especially in Finland this knife is mostly used for hunting and bushcraft purposes. This Condor Mini Indigenous Puukko is a compact version of this classic design.
This knife is made for all-round outdoor use. The blade has a scandi-grind. That is a fine grind for wood work. A scandi-edge is also easy to sharpen. Even with limited means and while out in the field.
The blade of the Condor Mini Indigenous Puukko Knife is made from 1095 carbon steel. A strong type of steel that is easy to sharpen and can handle quite a bit. 1095, however, is not completely stainless. As such you need to clean it regularly and add a drop of oil once in a while. The knife has a strong full-tang construction. This means that the thickness of the blade runs throughout the entire handle. Compared to traditional Puukko's where often only the thick pin of the blade is a part of the handle this is a lot stronger.
The handle is made from walnut wood. It has been enhanced with engravings of peoples from all over the world. There are, for instance, Sami patterns, but also Polynesian patterns. With it Condor honours the indigenous people from all over the world. The front of the handle has been wound with bronze wire. This will discolour in time and form a patina which will make each knife unique.
The Condor Mini Indigenous Puukko knife comes in a traditional leather sheath with a belt loop that has enough room for belts up to 5.5 cm.
