## Blade made of D2 steel
The blade of the Demko AD20.5 Shark-Lock, DLC D2 Shark Foot, 205-D2-SF-DLC, Grivory pocket knife is made of D2. This is a tool steel that has been used for all kinds of cutting tools since World War II. It is tough, easy to sharpen and retains its sharpness very well. Do take care around moisture and acids; D2 is not entirely stainless. It may discolour or even rust if not properly taken care of. Therefore, it's important to clean and dry the blade after use, and a drop of oil every once in a while can't hurt.



The blade is finished with a DLC coating, which stands for ‘Diamond Like Carbon’. It's a very hard coating that is even harder than the steel. This makes DLC very scratch-resistant, and this coating protects the blade against corrosion. DLC is very hard, but it is also only a thin layer: eventually, you will always see signs of use.
