The ESEE Darien Machete is a large machete, made in El Salvador. It is named after a Panamanian province where the last missing section of the Pan-American Highway should have been constructed. For multiple reasons this did not happen, but the inhospitable nature of this area was one of the main reasons it didn't. As such it is not that surprising that this machete was meant to be used in the jungle. But also when pruning blackberry bushes or for using in and around a bushcraft camp the Darien will be the perfect choice.

De Essee Darien is een bijzonder lekkere machete, hij ruikt zelfs lekker naar olie. Ik vind het handvat bijzonder prettig in de hand liggen. Ik heb grote handen, dus ik kan mij voorstellen dat mensen met kleinere handen er moeite mee kunnen hebben. Het gewicht is goed, niet zwaar, maar genoeg om niet te vergeten dat je iets in je handen hebt. Het lemmet is mooi van afwerking, en voor een machete lekker scherp. Voor mij een heerlijk speeltje, en de geur van olie er ratis bij.
