The **Extrema Ratio SECTOR 2 utility kitchen knife** is a unique kitchen knife. Because of the short blade you can easily peel an apple with it. In addition, with the thick blade you can easily crush a clove of garlic or chop a hard carrot into pieces. Because of the sleek design this knife can also be used as a steak knife at the dinner table!

 The Italian brand is known for producing knives for the Italian army. You see this when you look at the utility knife: it is heavy, robust and incredibly functional.

 ## Blade made from Böhler N690 steel

 The full-tang blade is made from Böhler N690, a type of steel that is also used to make scalpels. This type of steel, hardened up to 58 HRC, retains its sharpness for a very long time.

 The shape of the blade might remind you of a Tanto. Where the edge suddenly runs upwards at an acute angle. As such the tip of the blade is extra strong and it gives the knife its unique look and feel 

 ## Handle: scientific precision

 The Handle is made from the elastoplastic plastic called Forprene. This material was developed in cooperation with the Faculty of Movement Sciences at the University of Perugia in Italy. This to get a hold of the best imaginable ergonomics. The result? Two cut-outs on the side of the handle and a thickening of the bolster. Here you place your thumb and index finger on both sides, for an optimal grip.

 Another practical feature is that the handle was mounted to the tang with screws instead of rivets. As a result you can remove the handle. As a result bacteria don't stand a chance: you even clean the knife on the inside!
