I absolutely love this blade it is definitely one of my favourites. Edge retention is amazing sharpens fairly easily with the right sharpener it is a real workhorse and if you treat it right will remain that way. That said do NOT baton wood with it at all or apply any force to blade that is not your own hands mine snapped the tang within the handle using a tree branch as a mallet to split wood for kindling.... I have since bought a another f1 pro elmax... directly from fallkniven who have amazing customer service and although didn't give me a replacement for free as it was my mistake that is not covered by any warranty they certainly did their best to keep me happy and make sure I will buy their products again in future. Its a shame the same cannot be said for knives and tools customer service.. one word.. useless. when I emailed with images of the broken blade, I got one message saying we are sorry that happened we will pass this onto our warranty department who never responded not even after 3 follow up attempts from me. even if it is not covered by warranty someone should be able to explain why.
