The Helle 70 Lapland is a large fixed knife, or a small machete, whichever you prefer. The handle is thick to offer enough grip during use. The blade is made from Sandvik 12C27 steel. A stainless Scandinavian type of knife steel. Due to its blade thickness of 2.9 mm it shouldn't be used as a heavy-duty machete. An advantage is the relatively low weight which means the knife can come in handy during a camping trip.
The knife comes with a traditional Scandinavian leather sheath.
Both the handle and the blade need to be dried with a soft towel if they get wet. We also recommended occasionally adding wax or oil.
The sheath should occasionally be impregnated with a colourless agent (grease or wax) to make sure it stays flexible. Dry the sheath carefully at room temperature if it gets wet.
All Helle knives are made and finished by hand. As such each knife is a unique masterpiece because every pattern is different.

Helle, while not to most famous of knife makers producers very good quality blades and handles. The Lapland 70 is a medium to large fix blade knife, well weighted and feels comfortable when holding and undertaken tasks. You can buy big knifes that are cheaper but are of inferior quality. Worth it’s weight in gold
