This **Le Creuset frying pan from the Fonte enamel collection** is made from solid cast iron. It is a robust, top-quality pan that will last for generations. There are so many things you can do with this cast iron pan. You can cook, fry, grill and stew on all kinds of cooking hobs. Because of the wooden handles, you cannot use this pan in the oven or dishwasher.


## Le Fonte enamel pans


Le Creuset Fonte enamel pans are cast in cast iron. A sand mould is made for each individual pan. This mould is filled with cast iron. The cast iron is then finished with a beautiful enamel non-stick coating, and the exterior features one of the characteristic Le Creuset colours. The result is a brilliant, heavy pan. A real style icon, which will last for generations. Because an individual mould is made each time, every pan is unique, so there may be subtle differences between them. This is one of the charming characteristics of these world-famous pans.


Clean the pan before use and dry it properly. Always choose a heat source that is the appropriate size for the base diameter of the pan. When using a gas hob, make sure that the flames cannot spread around the sides of the pan. The flames should only hit the base. Also, do not immediately place the hot dish under a cold tap, as this could damage it. Make sure it has enough time to cool down. This pan is not dishwasher-safe because of the wooden handles.


## History of Le Creuset pans


The foundations for Le Creuset's success were laid way back in 1924 at the Brussels Stock Exchange. Armand Desaegher (specialist in cast iron) and Octave Aubecq (specialist in enamel) joined forces and decided to establish a company. This turned out to be a winning combination. Ever since 1925, they have been conquering the world with their enamel Le Creuset pans.
