Full description
The LionSteel KUR is a very nice Italian pocket knife, designed by Michele "Moletta" Pensato. The lining in the design is really beautiful. This typical example of Italian design not only looks great but lies great in the hand.
The blade is made of Austrian Sleipner steel. This is a tool steel type which is known for its balance between sharpness preservation and sturdiness. Be careful with moisture and fruity acids because this type of steel is only partially stainless. As long as you clean and dry it after use you’ll be okay. The have chosen for a tough stonewashed finish one the blade. This is very forgiving when it comes to wear and tear. An ideal choice for an EDC!
The blade runs very smoothly because of the ball bearings and it opens quickly via the flipper. In opened position the blade is held in place by a solid liner-lock. A fun technical detail is that the KUR has a ceramic detent ball. Ceramic is harder than steel and therefore prevents any wear and tear over time.
To carry the LionSteel KUR with you can use the subtle pocket clip. This way you can wear the KUR deep inside your pocket. They have concealed how it is attached to the knife in the titanium backspacer. No more ugly empty screw holes! The LionSteel KUR is a great knife for EDC. Epitome of Italian design combined with technical perfection.
