The **Reate Star Boy** is an awesome and compact pocket knife designed by French designer Tashi Bharucha. You immediately recognize the shapes of the popular Reate Future when you look at the Star Boy, you could even consider it to be the Future’s little brother. There are, however, also a couple of differences between the two.


For instance, even less of the Star Boy were made than there were of the Future. This specific configuration has only been made 48 times. Furthermore, the Future has an integral frame and the frame of the Star Boy is comprised of two parts.


The handle is made from titanium and the titanium framelock firmly keeps the blade in place when opened. To guarantee a perfectly working knife for years to come Reate has enhanced the framelock with a steel insert


You can open the blade by using the flipper. You will notice that Bharucha has redeveloped the Star Boy a little further when you look at the front of the edge. A part of the edge on the Future wasn’t sharpened to prevent injuries. The Star Boy, however, has been given a nice finger groove in the exact same place. Also worth mentioning is the way in which the handles have been assembled: with two screws on the lock side. You won’t see these screws when you look at the presentation side of the knife.


The blade is made from RWL34-steel, a top-quality type of powdered steel developed by the steel experts of Damask steel. They took the chemical composition of the well-known ATS-34 and converted it into a powdered metallurgical type of steel. The result is that the steel retains its sharpness and is stainless.
