Full description

The Ruike P123-ME Satin 14C28N, Blue Micarta is a sleek, lightweight yet quite large EDC pocket knife. Thanks to the flipper, in combination with the ball bearings, the blade practically shoots out of the handle. The excellent ergonomics of the Ruike P123 stand out. The handle is slim, but feels great in hand. The texture of the micarta makes sure the knife is exceptionally grippy, even in wet conditions. The high ‘thumb-ramp’ gives you even more control over the blade during precise cutting tasks.

Expectations

The knife is great. Sharp ou of the box, very light and has thin profile to carry in you pocket. Micarta offers firm grip and the scalloped grips feel great in you hand. I can not see, why this particular model does not enjoy more attention in public. It is a great knife, and I would dare to say it is even better than the famous P831. The 14C28N requires more frequent sharpening but it is very easy to sharpen and maintains its edge for quite some time. I prefer it to D2 or other harder steels, where you need a lot of time to resharpen or maybe even need diamond stones. The mechanism is good, feels solid and will function in the years to come. I have tried it on meat, wood, in the sea, sea fruits and oysters, it does the job well. And the blue colour looks great. Well done Ruike!
