A legend in a new look: Buck 110 and 112 Slim Heritage Elite

Buck is starting 2026 strong. The iconic Buck 110 and Buck 112 are getting an update people have been asking for for years. Thinner, lighter and easy to slip into your pocket, without losing that familiar Buck feel. Buck ehh.. I mean big news!

A classic, made for today

The Buck 110 and 112 have been trusted classics for decades. For many people, the 110 is the pocket knife that comes to mind when you ask for the most iconic model ever made. That’s hardly surprising. It has been in production since 1963 and helped make the back lock famous. At the same time, the classic version was very much a product of its era, back when pocket knives were worn in leather sheaths on the belt.

With the new Slim Heritage Elite line, Buck brings the 110 and 112 fully up to modern standards. The familiar design remains instantly recognisable, but the construction has been significantly slimmed down and now includes a pocket clip. The result is a knife that looks like a true Buck, yet feels like a modern EDC you can comfortably carry every day.

What makes the Slim Heritage Elite so interesting?

Buck has stayed true to the classic 110 and 112 design. The clip point blade shape, hollow grind and timeless look are immediately recognisable. The nail nick is still there too. It may feel old-school, but it fits perfectly with the slim profile and character of these knives.

The real difference is in the details. These knives are almost half as thick as the classic 110 and 112, noticeably lighter, and equipped with a deep-carry pocket clip for tip-up carry. That means they sit neatly and discreetly in your pocket, without the need for a sheath.

MagnaCut steel and trusted materials

Another notable upgrade is the steel. Buck has chosen MagnaCut, developed by Larrin Thomas. This steel is known for its excellent balance of corrosion resistance, wear resistance and toughness. In practice, that means a blade that stays sharp for a long time, is easy to sharpen, and handles moisture with ease.

The handle stays true to Buck tradition. Brass or nickel bolsters are combined with Crelicam ebony wood inlays. This wood is stabilised, making it not only strong but also resistant to ageing. Classic, without feeling dated.

Buck 110 or Buck 112: which one suits you best?

Both sizes receive the Slim Heritage Elite treatment. The Buck 110 remains the full-size favourite, ideal if you prefer a larger knife with a bit more reach. The Buck 112, also known as the Ranger, is more compact and features a blade of around 3 inches (7.62 cm). For many people, that’s just the right size for everyday carry.

A fun detail is that the idea of a slimmer Buck 110 isn’t entirely new. Years ago, extra-slim versions were already circulating unofficially, often sourced quietly from the factory and especially popular with motorcyclists. Now Buck has officially embraced that idea, combining it with modern materials and practical carry options.

Pre-order and availability

The Slim Heritage Elite models are expected in spring 2026. If you want to be among the first to carry one, you can already place a pre-order. That way, you’re guaranteed a piece as soon as they arrive and you’ll soon be carrying a true classic in a surprisingly pocket-friendly design.

Buck has also announced new variants of the 724 Mustang, the Select version of the fixed-blade Alpha Backcountry, and the folding knives 700 Nomad and 698 Ferox. Something for everyone, in other words. Curious which version suits you best? Check out all Buck knives!
