The **Spyderco Opus** is a large pocket knife, designed by the German designer Uli Hennicke. Opus is Latin for work. This immediately hits the nail on the head regarding the purpose of this knife: is should be used. 


With the Opus, Hennicke presents a knife that feels reasonably comfortable in your pocket. It is quite thin but still pretty high when closed. For this reason the thumb hole is very accessible, both left and right. When opened the linerlock keeps the blade in place. Your fingers automatically find their natural place around the handle. It is striking how a couple of apparently futile grooves so nicely guide your hands to their position.


The pointed blade is made from CPM S30V steel. A great American type of steel that is stainless and retains its sharpness well. Because Hennicke added a small belly to the edge just before the tip, the tip is a little stronger.
