The Spyderco Wakiita Petty knife from the Murray Carter Collection is the smallest knife in this collection. From the French word 'petit' which means 'small', this Petty knife is the equivalent of a Western peeling knife. Perfect when peeling and cutting fruit, vegetables and making detailed garnishes for that finishing touch.
This collection is comprised of five different knife styles: the Petty, Funayuki, Nakiri, Bunka Bocho and Gyuto. Made in Japan according to the demanding Spyderco norms. The tapered shape of the spine of the blade towards the tip is characteristic for this knife.
Spyderco Wakiita collection blade
Each blade is made from CTS BD1N-steel. Quite the mouth full. In short it means that it is a stainless type of steel that is easy to sharpen. It is quite strong and retains its sharpness well. Simply a great fine type of steel. As with all Spyderco knives these kitchen knives are enhanced with an exceptionally thin grind for perfect cutting performances.
Spyderco Wakiita collection handle
The handle of the Wakiita collection is enhanced with the traditional octagonal shape. The handle is made from sturdy black G10. This is a composite material made from glass fibres and synthetic resin. A versatile material that offers enough grip regardless of the circumstances, or while wearing gloves. In short: a light-weight but strong material that offers enough grip.
