With the **Wüsthof Gourmet chef's knife 18 cm** you can handle any task in the kitchen. Perfect when cutting vegetables, meat, fish and fruit. But also finely chopping herbs, crushing pepper corns and peeling cloves of garlic is easy with this all-rounder.

## Wüsthof Gourmet handle


The polypropylene handle is attached to the blade with rivets. The ergonomic shape feels comfortable in hand to make sure you can continue working without wearing out your hands. The knives are enhanced with the NSF mark and can therefore be used in the professional kitchen.


## Wüsthof Gourmet blade


The blade is cut from a single piece of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel with a laser. The production method is cheaper than forging, but still leaves you with very good kitchen knives when using the right type of steel. Afterwards the steel is hardened up to 56 Rockwell. The result is that the blade retains its sharpness longer in comparison to other brands in the same price range. But that is not all! The edge is also easy to sharpen. Even though these kitchen knives are dishwasher proof we advise you to clean them by hand.


## Wüsthof Gourmet collection: amazing price-quality ratio


The Wüsthof Gourmet collection is made for the amateur chef. As a basis for this collection Wüsthof used the Classic collection to come up with a similar knife for a more affordable price. And they were successful! The blade seamlessly merges with the handle making them very similar to the knives from the Wüsthof Classic collection. However, because of the production method used the knives from the Gourmet collection are a lot more affordable. The weight is also lower, which is great for many users. The Gourmet collection is expansive to make sure everyone can comprise the perfect knife set. With the Gourmet collection Wüsthof introduced a kitchen knife collection with an amazing price-quality ratio.

kwaliteit goed, maar voelt goedkoper aan 

Fijn mes, ligt goed in de hand.  Ik gebruik hem met veel plezier in de keuken. Op het mes hebben we nog een logo laten graveren. Dit ziet er erg mooi uit, goed gelukt!

Mes bestelt voor een bevriende kok in Oostenrijk. Ze krijgt het met pas op 24 januari 2010 vandaar de 7 bij de verwachting. Verder dik tevreden over bestelmogelijkheid, snelle levering, en de ets service en de prijs kwaliteitvehoudig.Dit zal zeker niet de laatste bestelling zijn. Bedankt en succes verder

Zo'n goedkopere lijn kan wel niets zijn, denk je al snel, maar da's in dit geval niet waar. De enige reden waarom ze goedkoper zijn is dat ze uit strip materiaal gemaakt zijn i.p.v. gesmeed. Maar het is technisch en financieel veel goedkoper om strip van hoge kwaliteit te maken dan een mes te smeden.
Qua scherpte en duurzaamheid van de snijkant is het dus net zo goed of mogelijk nog beter dan de duurdere modellen. Voor de muggenzifters zit het verschil dan ook in de wat abrupte overgang (kan makkelijker vuil blijven zitten) tussen mes en handvat.

Ook levert KnivesAndtools er een prachtige service bij om er een logootje op te zetten. Mijn oorspronkelijke ontwerpje was veel te gedetailleerd, wat ze me ook vertelden. De tweede idem. De derde is erg mooi geworden, zodat m'n moeder nu een messenset heeft met haar familie-wapen, zij het wat vereenvoudigd. Ze komen hierbij wat lastig over, maar het komt wel de kwaliteit ten goede.

Leuk om z'n setje messen te hebben, waar iets herkenbaars van jezelf op staat. Prive erg leuk; zakelijk bijna een noodzaak om jou messen herkenbaar te hebben van die van collega's.

Bedankt KnivesAndTools voor de inspanning. Service is tegenwoordig vaak ver te zoeken, maar ondanks het heen en weer getik van het ontwerp zijn de messen toch op tijd gekomen voor ma's verjaardag.
