The **Benchmade Griptilian 553** is a solid pocket knife. Benchmade produced a smaller and a full-size version of the Griptilian tanto. The 553 Griptilian is the larger and somewhat thicker version which is also large enough for larger hands to hold four fingers on the black Valox (FRN) handle. Despite the larger size the weight is still remarkably low. And yet the Griptilian is enhanced with steel liners. For many this knife will be perfect for everyday use.


The 154CM-steel blade looks slim, which is also due to the layout in the steel. An axis-lock locks the blade when fully opened. Opening and closing this knife is easy and can be done with one hand by both left and right-handed users.


This version of the Griptilian has a tanto-shaped blade. This makes the Benchmade perfect for penetrating tasks.
