The **Böker Plus Subcom 01BO610 Friction Folder** is, as the name might already suggest, a *friction folder* pocket knife. This means that the knife hasn't been enhanced with a hard lock to keep the blade open. Instead the knife has a sort of long front flipper you hold in place yourself as you use the knife. As such you can make sure the knife doesn't close, even though officially the knife hasn't got a lock. As a result the Böker Plus Subcom Friction Folder can be carried in most places where locked blades are forbidden. 

 The original design of the Böker Subcom is made by Chad Los Banos. This design has been used for years in various configurations. This Friction Folder version has, when opened, the same lines as its predecessors. When you close it you see the large flipper-tab protruding from the knife. 

 In terms of materials Böker selected a couple of fixed and trusted values. The blade is made from 440C-steel. It is stainless, easy to sharpen and simply-put great. The handle is made from G10 with a stainless steel lockside. In this case the lockside isn't really a lock, but only a detent which, with a ball, gives the blade a subtle click when fully opened and closed. 

  Because you cannot simply carry a Friction Folder in your pocket, as you run the risk of the knife opening, Böker has added a kydex neck sheath to the knife.
