The Hogue EX-03 is a slick pocket knife, designed by custom knife maker Allen Elishewitz. The handles are made of polymer which is a solid plastic. The also serve right as the frame of the knife since there are no liners. This makes the handle very light-weight. < br/> < br/> The blade of 154CM steel has a stone-washed finish which strengthens the tough appearance. The edge is razor-sharp and is delivered with a bright mirror-edge straight out of the factory. < br/> < br/> In open position the blade is blocked by a solid button-lock. This mechanism allows you to simply press the button on the side of the handle to unlock the knife. As a result, you don’t come close to the blade with your fingers during closing. This button-lock also has an additional locking which goes into play in opened position. This will lock the button-lock again to inadvertently have you pressing the button. The pocket clip is placed tip-down so you can wear the knife inside a pocket, but it can also be placed tip-up with a Torx-8 screwdriver.
