The Rick Hinderer Fulltrack is a large and tough EDC pocket knife, designed by Rick Hinderer himself. When you hold this knife you immediately notice the size of it. With a 9.5 cm blade and a full-size handle it is a relatively imposing knife, ready to be used.
You could consider the Fulltrack to be the large successor of the Halftrack. We, however, believe it to be an exceptional knife on its own. Of course the design lines look similar, but the Fulltrack is also unique at the same time. The Fulltrack, for instance, has been enhanced with an internal stop-pin, while with the Halftrack the stop-pin was pressed into the blade. The Fulltrack is also enhanced with the Tri-Way-pivot system. This means that ball bearings are mounted to the knife, but that phosphor bronze and teflon washers are also included. As such you can switch whenever you want to.
The best thing about the Rick Hinderer Fulltrack is, however, the remarkable backspacer. Because of a cut-out on the presentation side you can easily pop it out to make sure you can use the back as a screwdriver. By making clever use of the two sizes of allen keys you will not only immediately own the right tools to tighten the pivot and frame screws but also the pocket clip.
Those additional washers for your knife are great, but on the road they will not come in handy when they are stored at home in your drawer. For that reason Rick Hinderer milled a pocket from the handle where you can store the washers. With the built-in backspacer screw-tool you can loosen the handle and take the knife apart to exchange the washers. Genius! If you ask us.
The blade is made from CPM S35VN-steel. A premium type of powder steel, which means that the steel has a very fine structure. In between the flipper and the edge you can find a finger choil. With it you have more control over the blade during the more detailed tasks. There is also a thumb groove to make sure you can open the knife a little more subtly. You open the blade with the flipper. When opened the blade is locked by a framelock.
The handle is made from titanium. Both sides of the frame are enhanced with G10 inlays. These offer you additional grip and contrast. On the lockside the G10 also ensures that the framelock cannot be overstretched. As a result you are left with a lock that will work perfectly for years.
Hinderer didn't hold back in terms of finishes on this Fulltrack. The blade has a Working Finish and the titanium scales are Battle Bronze. You don't see them like this that often.
All in all the Rick Hinderer Fulltrack is an amazing knife. Ready for everyone who appreciates a bigger-sized knife. Solidly constructed and well-thought out. Exactly what you expect from a Hinderer.
