**The James Brand The Carter** is a light-weight EDC pocket knife, with a sleek design. The Carter will always have your back, no matter what the day will bring you. Take it with you when you go camping, kayaking or when you work in and around the house. It's also handy during office hours, as you can easily use the thin blade to open packages or peel an apple. 

Because of its slim profile and low weight it almost disappears in your pocket. However, you still have a 7.0 cm blade at your disposal. You open the blade with the thumb disc that is located on the spine of the blade. The big advantage of the disc is that you can place your thumb on top of it to apply more pressure while using the knife. The Carter is enhanced with a so-called *slide lock*. This locking mechanism looks a lot like an axis lock, but it is slightly different. It is just as easy to control with two hands, though.

The blade of The James Brand The Carter is made from VG10 steel. This is a Japanese type of steel that retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. VG10 is also stainless and therefore doesn't require a lot of maintenance. The handle is made from micarta, a composite material of linen and synthetic resin. The contours ensure that the knife feels great in hand.

The design of the pocket clip is very clever. Because of how it was designed and attached, you can carry the knife deep in your pocket. It is also great that you can effortlessly move the pocket clip to the other side of the handle. As such, left-handed users can also easily carry The Carter.
