The **Viper Katla V5985BC Satin Böhler M390, Bocote Wood**, designed by Jesper Voxnaes, is a cool EDC pocket knife named after one of the most active volcanoes in Iceland. This Danish knife maker is one of the most popular designers of recent years. With good reason! His knives always excel when it comes to ergonomics and style. After all, Danish design is popular for a reason. This Viper Katla is another amazing example of his brilliant design skills.

You use the Viper Katla for many daily tasks, but it will also look amazing in a showcase! The finish is perfect and the longer you hold it, the more details you will see. Take the backspacer and pivot collar (the ring around the pivot), for instance. These are made from phosphor bronze. Very cool!

There are two ways to open the Katla: the thumb stud or the fast flipper. Thanks to the ball bearings, the action is super smooth. Truly addictive to play with! To tame the Katla's fiery temperament, a liner lock holds the blade firmly in place. Viper neatly placed it in the material used for the handle.

## Viper Katla Böhler M390

The blade of the Viper Katla is made from top-quality Böhler M390 steel. This steel retains its sharpness well and is corrosion resistant. Unsurprisingly, it is one of the most popular premium options today. You won’t have to sharpen it as often as other types of steel, which increases the knife's lifespan. The shape of the blade is remarkable: on the one hand you could say that it is a tanto, because of the grind towards the tip. However, the bend in the blade is not as ‘present’ as with many other Americanised tantos. As such it is more for the subtle looks, because it cuts like a ‘normal’ droppoint.

## Viper Katla Bocote Wood

The handle is made from stabilized bocote wood. Bocote wood not only offers an aesthetic advantage with its stripes and warm brown tones, but it is also known for its durability and moisture resistance, making the handle resistant to the elements and perfect for long-term use. The smooth finish provides a comfortable and consistent user experience, making the pocket knife both functional and visually appealing.
