The KA-BAR EK Commando Knife EK13 is a very nice version of the classic EK Commando knife. This knife was finished at a presentation grade level. This meant that extra attention was paid to polishing the blade and the overall finish.
This design was introduced during the Second World War. In 1941 the original EK Commando Knife was designed by John Ek. Ever since this knife, and the versions that followed it, were used in almost all wars the United States was involved in. This might give you an idea of how much history comes with this design. Literally books were written about this. This Presentation Knife version is an homage to the original model. Made for collector's who display the knife at home.
The blade is made from 440C steel. A stainless type of steel that is easy to sharpen. The handle is made from walnut wood. Because the walnut wood is lacquered it nicely fits the polished blade.
The knife guard is made from copper-plated stainless steel. The characterizing screws are also copper plated. This knife comes with a leather sheath. Both the knife and the sheath are made in the United States.
