First lets get the cost out of the way. Expensive, yes it is but this is the best price I have found and it got better with the combination discount, thank you knives and tools. This is just an excellent product that allows my sharpening station to be mobile, it is really well made and looks as good as it functions. When combined as i have with the Shapton Heavy Stone Holder its more or less perfection. Highly recommended if access to a sink is not entirely possible. There are cheaper options (example the Suehiro trough) out there but for me this was what I wanted after all my research, and Kuro is after all the best colour but seriously in truth it is just so well made, well designed and looks and functions perfectly I don’t think anybody considering this as a purchase will be disappointed. Sometimes you get lucky and you actually get what you pay for and this is a first class example of a great tool worthy of the price I paid here at Knives and Tools.

A useful, simple alternative to sharpening over the sink, or in a tray that moves with the sharpening action. This stays rock solid, with the Shapton stone holder in the middle. The rubber sides grip the surface, and the glass base gives enough weight to anchor the pond. However, it is expensive.
