The Opinel Pocket knife with wooden handle. Originally created by Joseph Opinel in 1890 for use by farmers. The Opinel Pocket knife is a famous, yet very cheap pocket knife for everyday use. You can get very small versions or fairly large ones. There is only one thing for French farmers that is even more important than a good pocket knife: a corkscrew. Therefore Opinel has equipped this pocket knife with an excellent corkscrew. A clearly audible click informs you if this is entirely opened or closed.   
  


This pocket knife is equipped with the simple but effective Virobloc-lock system. The blade is locked by the ring that can be pivoted around the hinge point. A classic in true sense of the word.

Well made traditional pocket knife expect it to last for years. Simple but effective locking safety system never likely to jam.

Couteau simple et efficace, comme tous les Opinel. Idéal pour le pique-nique, avec son tire-bouchon. La gravure demandée était très bien réalisée, et conforme aux attentes. Bon rapport qualité/prix..

Ik ben geen messenspcialist, dus hoe scherp de snede nou precies is bij aankomst? Geen idee, en het boeit me ook niet. Dit mes doet totnutoe wat ik ermee wil doen; onderweg een broodje snijden en smeren, wilgentakken ontvellen, even snel een aankoop van de verpakking ontdoen, en een fles opentrekken :)

Er zwerven een aantal Opinellen door het huis, maar omdat ik bij deze een foudraal heb gekocht heb ik deze ook daadwerkelijk paraat als ik een mes nodig heb. Ook al is de sluiting van de foudraal (drukknoopje) erg slecht. Gelukkig zit het mes strak genoeg.
