Modestone: waterproof notebooks

Modestone’s story began when important notes written down by establisher Kalle were destroyed by water while he was serving in the Finnish army.
The idea for a waterproof notebook was born. Key was finding the right materials. The notebooks are made from 80% CaCO3 (calcium carbonate, limestone) and 20% HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). As such you no longer need a special coating to make the product waterproof. This unique formula has led to nearly indestructible, oil and waterproof paper which even works when you are not using a pen. You can namely also write on it using an object containing metal.
