Glass Stones: are you using glass to sharpen your knives?
The name might suggest you are sharpening on glass. That is not the case. The base of the sharpening stone is enhanced with a glass sheet. This sheet ensures that the sharpening stone won't bend and will last even longer. The glass also ensures you can use the stone to its full extent, even as the stone has gotten thinner after years of use.
Skerper Glass Stone grit sizes
The Skerper Glass Stones collection comprises four stones with a grit size ranging from coarse to ultra-fine. The 400 grit sharpening stone is perfect when sharpening a damaged of blunt knife. You use the 1000 grit sharpening stone to make sure blunt knives become sharp again. The 3000 grit sharpening stone turns sharp knives into razor-sharp knives. Finally, there is a 6000 grit sharpening stone for those who feel razor-sharp is still not sharp enough.
