WE Knife, Civivi and Sencut knives, one family, three brands

One factory, three price ranges

Note the difference between the company and the brand: WE Knife Co. is the manufacturer, WE Knife is one of the three brands that roll off the line there. The company started in 2000 as a supplier for other knife brands and built up sixteen years of experience before it started selling under its own name. Together, the three brands cover everything from entry level to display cabinet.

WE Knife: the top segment

Titanium handles, milled details and super steels such as M390, CPM 20CV and CPM S35VN. Damascus comes from Damasteel. With these knives, the finish matters just as much as the function: neatly centred blades, smooth bearings and a lock that closes firmly. View all WE Knife knives.

Civivi: the mid-range

The same design department, more accessible materials. Think of 14C28N, Nitro-V and D2, combined with G10, micarta or wood. Civivi is the most popular brand in the range, and the Elementum is its best-known EDC pocket knife. If you want to move up a step within Civivi, look at the Civivi Elite: the same accessible approach, but with better steel types and more luxurious handle materials. Sencut: the entry-level segment

Sencut deliberately keeps its choice of materials narrow: 9Cr18MoV or D2, G10 or micarta. That keeps the price low while the action stays smooth. A great choice for your first pocket knife, or for a knife you can toss into the toolbox without regret. View all Sencut knives.

What WE Knife, Civivi and Sencut have in common

All three brands go through the same quality control, and designs move back and forth between the brands. The clearest example is the Banter by Ben Petersen: the original appeared at WE Knife, the smaller Baby Banter at Civivi. The Elementum also spans both brands, in 14C28N or Nitro-V at Civivi, in titanium with CPM 20CV at WE Knife. Alongside its own design team, the company works with knife makers from all over the world.

All three brands come with a lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects. The maintenance is identical too: keep the mechanism clean, give the pivot a drop of oil now and then and store the knife in a dry place.
