Cold Steel SR1 pocket knives
Take the SRK, their best-known fixed knife, and make it foldable. Then you get the Cold Steel SR1. Large, heavy and indestructible, yet still something you simply carry in your pocket.
The lock makes the Cold Steel SR1
In the open position, the Tri-Ad lock engages. It is a back-lock with an extra stop pin that takes the impact instead of the rocker, which means this lock handles forces that would defeat an ordinary back lock. Excessively strong for everyday use, and that is exactly the idea.
The blade is substantial for a pocket knife and has the same shape as the fixed SRK on which the design is based. You open it with a sturdy thumb stud, left-handed or right-handed, and the blade opens smoothly without any play.
Between the handle scales are steel liners that Cold Steel gives a heat treatment, making them stiffer and more wear-resistant than ordinary liners. The scales themselves are made of G10, which keeps its grip and does not swell in moisture.
Within the series, you can choose between a drop point and a tanto, and between the regular version and the lighter Lite with a thinner blade. The fixed original is the Cold Steel SRK.
